The southern continent, previously used for farmland,is mostly uninhabited. The Southern Cities (<address>[Geller], [Roanstown], [Passerdale], [Gleandale] and [Fortran]</address>) were abandoned at the height of the [[Chrome]] outbreak. Now, the human population (and an equivalent number of androids) lives within a hundred miles of the capital city, Czintsel.

The planet's only [[downline]] leads to the city of Tryzst,which is entirely machine-run and serves as the world's manufacturing centre. Some 700 miles from Czintsel, this metropolis has a human population of 6, who are employed as overseers by [[Phillis Catterall and Sons]]. The company's management mostly live on the [[line station]], whose passenger elevators connect directly to the overland rail network.
