An ecclesiastical title, used by approximately a dozen archbishops. Technically (although rarely used) a clergyman of another rank can take the title; in this case they are named as, for example, '''Electros Camerlengo Deacon Smith'''. Other titles are always placed ''after'' Electros Camerlengo, with the exception of [[Saint]] (which makes the compound title "Electorate Saint") and [[Archbishop]] (which is omitted).

The Electros Camerlengo is responsible for maintaining the membership roster of a [[Synod]] or [[Grand Synod]], and also carries the casting vote. However, the most commonly thought of priest in this role is the Camerlengo of the [[Most Divine Grand Synod]], (colloquially known as the ''Spare Pope''), who is responsible for discharging the [[pope|papal]] duties on the death of the pope, until a successor can be appointed.
