The [[Flagonball Association]] is the governing body of the sport of [[Flagonball]]. They define the official rules of Flagonball, as used by all professional teams. However, unlike many other sports, the FA only determines the rules of play; terms about team composition, players' wages, and the systems for arranging matches, are all determined by independent bodies which cover a particular league or planet.

The Association is made up of 3 representatives from each member tournament (whether it is a league, cup or other), who meet at least once every year to discuss any changes which must be made to the rules. One representative from each tournament must be a full-time player who has no non-Flagonball income.

As well as Flagonball itself, the FA has the power to veto official [[Flagon]] rules. Traditionally (and to the consternation of players from more conservative worlds), the Flagon drinking game is officially used as a tiebreaker when the FA executive are voting on new rules. However, this has only happened once (in the famous case to decide whether a flag is awarded if the goal collapses over the ball).
