New page

Habitation modules were created way back in the time of [[the Great Expansion]] as a way to make settlement of new worlds more convenient.

The basic module was a truncated tetrahedral frame made of [[cerament]] struts, with strong polymer webbing stretched over the outside. This takes up relatively little space in storage, but once unfolded is a room approximately 9m across.

These rooms are, by default, undecorated living space. The interior surfaces have eyelets at regular intervals, which allow a roll of 2m-wide webbing to be stretched across as an interior wall, and also allow shelves and other furniture to be anchored to the structure.

Modules can be opened at the 3 corners where the walls connect, and joined together with a simple pressure-safe seal. The corners also have anchor spikes, which are used to connect the settlement to the ground.

Using these traditional modules, a group of people can erect a settlement large enough to house them in approximately 6 hours.
