Jihaadine is a second-settled world. Due to a technical and administrative misunderstanding, they were cut off from [[Temple Ship]] visits for nearly 3 months. In this time, a coup turned into a civil war fought with nuclear weapons, and the majority of life on the planet was obliterated.

Sixteen years later, those who had sought refuge on the world's (then uninhabited) moons <address>[/Thurbold] and [/Bargster]</address> returned to cleanse the surface and establish a new civilisation. They did not want to glorify the exploits of their ancestors – on either side of the conflict – so decided that the ideologies of the two factions, and even the name of the planet and capital city, were to be stricken from all historical record. They applied to the [[Approved Names Registrar]] to help them choose a new name for their world, and in <date>942</date> were awarded official claim on the name Jihaadine.
