A somewhat uninspired name for the fashion which seems to ominate the modern 'alternative' scene. Post-retro is a style which grew out of the previous decade's [[retrogothic]] chic. Probably the easiest way to define this anti-nonconformist style is to say that post-retro takes common stylistic elements from retro fashions, but combines them to create something which the goths themselves would never accept.

In the mass media, post-retro is popularly associated with gang violence and street culture. However, in reality the [[vert gang]]s are only now beginning to adopt this new trend in favour of their more accepted [[edgecore]] styles.
