The Rheas are an alien race. Maybe they've moved far away from known space (a theory quite often given by those who don't understand [[warp technology]]), or maybe they've become extinct somehow.

All that remains of them are some odd artifacts, most in the hands of the [[Theocratic Science Service]], and ruined settlements on a handful of worlds.

One group believes that [[Auric I]] may have been the Rheas homeworld - which would explain how an entire star managed to completely escape detection until a few hundred years ago. This could lead to the slightly disturbing thought that maybe the Rheas are still around, even occupying planets in the same systems as human settlements, while using some kind of unknown stealth technology to render planets invisible too.
