Constructed in 972, in response to a large number of cancers blamed on groundwater contaminated with Cyclic Aromofluorinite (originally introduced to the system as an anti-fungal agent during the Chrome epidemic).
The Array itself is a hexagonal mesh-like structure approximately 300m in diameter, suspended in the lower stratosphere by the lift from 3 spun-xylenel wings. It is connected by lengths of downline to water purification plants at
City/Water Centre, 4 and Quarter/52nd Street/Waterworks
.
The array collects atmospheric water by condensing it on a massive structure of supercooled vanes, before sending it down to the ground via a set of 101 modified elevators known as donkey buckets.
Due to the terrible possibilities of poisoning at such a centralised facility, the Array has a full time staff of 22 security personnel, as well as more than 120 androids and 1 technician.
Any rumours that the Global Elite uses the facility to add Fresh to the water supply are entirely unjustified.
