Vague or not well defined; lacking in detail. When used of any technological development (especially software), implies that it is Vapourware.
Etymology:In <date>904</date>, there was a brief craze for ocean themed computers. There were fish-shaped monitors, squid-shaped computers, shell-shaped microphones and all variety of similar products. In an attempt to convince shareholders that they were on top of the current craze, one Diebold Corporation executive reputedly announced at a meeting that the company would surely be the first to produce a Sediment-shaped printer.
