Jihaadine is a second-settled world. Due to a technical and administrative misunderstanding, they were cut off from Temple Ship visits for nearly 3 months. In this time, a coup turned into a civil war fought with nuclear weapons, and the majority of life on the planet was obliterated.
Sixteen years later, those who had sought refuge on the world's (then uninhabited) moons <address>[/Thurbold] and [/Bargster]</address> returned to cleanse the surface and establish a new civilisation. They did not want to glorify the exploits of their ancestors – on either side of the conflict – so decided that the ideologies of the two factions, and even the name of the planet and capital city, were to be stricken from all historical record. They applied to the Approved Names Registrar to help them choose a new name for their world, and in <date>942</date> were awarded official claim on the name Jihaadine.
