Leroi Stolz

Leroi 'Tetsuo' Stolz is living proof that no matter how uncomfortable a job is, there will be someone willing to give it a try.

Living in poverty in the slums of Magellan, he saw a way out and took it. Leroi realised that researchers developing cybernetic technology could proceed much faster if they could experiment with human subjects. He offered himself for them to experiment on, charging enough for himself and his brothers to live in luxury, but still orders of magnitude less than the cost of experimenting with labrats for 3 years to prove that the procedure was safe for human trials.

From 855 to 849, Leroi received more than 30 experimental procedures, most of which were successful. As his fame grew among the homeless and disposessed, more people became willing to risk their lives in order to aid science and to lift their families out of poverty.

However, in 849 hte man vanished. An urban myth is now circling through the criminal underground suggesting that one last brain implant had finally driven the Metal Man insane. Maybe he really can be found roving the most decayed parts of the city, not knowing who or what he used to be. An alternative rumous, however, suggests that among the implants Leroi has tried were several designed for military use. Those who have heard this believe that he has left because he had got all he wanted from the researchers: he is now using his upgrades to become a perfect assassin, living in luxury in the times when he is not using his rather unique physiology in the serivce of whoever can afford to hire him.
