Gucciano 5-scope

The Gucciano 5-scoped semi automatic hybrid pistols were constructed by the master armorer Leon Gucciano. Approximately 12 were ever constructed, each one a masterpiece. The hybrid pistol design never caught on as they are almost impossible to mass produce as each plasma coil has to be tailor made to interact with a specific particle breeder, then the 5 'scopes' are used to shape layer and shape the beam into a toroidal self containing plasma shroud, filled with charged antiferron gas; this is sometimes referred to as the "deadly donut". The weapon's muzzle velocity is low and the shot curves in a magnetic field making these weapons difficult to use for an inexperienced user, however the gun mounts an accurate field indicator, going so far as to predict likely field curvature.

The 5-scope is illegal on almost every planet and is not considered a pistol under many jurisdictions, instead being classified variously as an anti-tank munition or an artillery piece, and on Lexis it is banned under a nuclear disarmament treaty. (On Cellevibe it is also considered a strategic weapon, but isn't actually prohibited)
