History is divided into a number of eras, although historians are always arguing about the exact dates. The individual pages for these may need fixing up.

• First Dark Age (<date>before 8200</date>)

  An era in which the light of the church was unknown, and humanity was unable to communicate with men on other planets.

• Spacer Age (<date>8500 - 8100</date>)

  The first era of space flight

• Theological Era (<date>8200 - 8000</date>)

  The creation of the modern church by the Divine Twins Saint Yve and Pope Adam

• The Great Expansion (<date>8200 - 6500</date>)
• Golden Age (<date>6800 - 5000</date>)

  A time when many myths and legends of superhuman heroes originate; either because of the widespread research into Generic Engineering (which eventually precipitated the crackdown on Forbidden Science), or because of a fashion for exaggeration and sensationalism in news reporting.

• Xylene Age (<date>5400 - 3000</date>)

  In which the earliest surviving technology was constructed; the era when things were built to last forever

• New Dark Ages (<date>5000 - 1120</date>)
• Silver Age (<date>1120 - 998</date>)

  In which many planets consciously attempted to revive Golden Age values, fashion and culture

• Civil War Era (<date>1050 - 900</date>)

  In which conflict became less violent and more political across the majority of the universe

• Millennial Era (<date>1000 - 842</date>)

  The modern age

• Present Day - <date>842</date>
• Semilennial Era (<date>after 499</date>)

  Hypothetical future era; many already predict widespread panic
