Although different legal terminology exists on many worlds, the commonly understood term Personoid from the Calibre City Legislative Code is understood in most contexts where a more specific definition is not necessary. A Personoid is any entity (which may be a person, charity, planet, corporation, state, political ideology, or computer system) which may act as a person for the purposes of law. For example, a personoid may be found guilty of a crime where the blame cannot reasonably be placed with a single individual.
On most planets, any entity able to own money or property is automatically considered a personoid, and (unless specifically exempted) is subject to the same laws which apply to humans.
