Fylings/Southern Quarter
The first new residential district on Fylings following the Chrome epidemic, Southern Quarter was founded in 969, occupying a small area of disused industrial land directly south from the centre of Fylings City itself.
When founded, this new city was mostly occupied by offworld businessmen, taking advantage of the resettlement benefits offered by the Judiciary Council. It is divided by 101 streets, which are numbered from north to south. Every 10th road (1st street, 11th street, 21st street, etc.) runs from Epiphany Square in the east, to Beautification Park in the west. The streets between these branch off after a few miles.
The majority of the buildings in Southern are constructed as 3-level buildings, with residences above shops. Initially, those setting up shops in this city would get the attached flat rent-free in order to encourage the creation of new business.
Maps
Here are two sketch maps of the city, although we'd greatly appreciate any more detailed images.
