A slang term for the deposits found on the outside of a line station or other orbital structure.

Space Moss may be composed of interstellar dust, ejecta from solar flares, Stratophage spores, paint flakes and other debris from spacecraft, and micro organisms adapted for life in the upper atmosphere. It may even include actual moss or other contaminants brought up there by non-sterile launch conditions.

Also, a shadowtalk term for uninteresting posts, especially malformed messages or attempts to include non-textual data. Equivalent to the extinct line noise. (Believed to be from the 4tune "Kairo> Images are space moss. I don't need to know what they're made of, they don't belong here")
