Gruntrude Schweng

A character (and primary antagonist) in popular TV series Castillian Hospital Doctors. Schweng's role was re-cast on the day before filming, as the original actor chosen was in a serious accident. Fortunately, former Castillian actor Welles Derwent was staying on Sophia at the time, and took on the role as a kind of working retirement.

Schweng is a paramedic, working at Downtown Hospital, a fictional medical establishment on New Castile. He considers himself to be part of the intellectual elite, understanding fine art and literature as well as a talented doctor. Therefore he derives great pleasure in proving himself superior to Dr Numpeter, a boorish lout who degrades Schweng's social standing by managing to get better grades on the same exams, and holds a more important job.
