Cylindroid

A maintenance robot, often seen on orbital facilities. It was one of the first units created by Galactic X Datel to test their 4.2 AndrOS system.

It is often cited by fans (though without factual basis) that the same marketing team responsible for Cubeputers was hired to create a brand image for a new service droid, and that Datel sued them after the result was a clearly derivative name and no real marketing campaign.

Appearance

The Cylindroid is (as the name suggests) a squat cylinder, about 1.2m tall and 60cm in diameter. It has triple-jointed manipulator arms and extensible peripheral/data ports all around its body, as well as a lockable internal storage area (which by default holds a small toolbox). It is supported by 2 legs which are parallel to the cylinder, jointed in the middle, and have magnetic tracks on either end.
