Carrying massive cargo, these come in all shapes and sizes. However, many recent models follow a relatively standard design with crew compartments on top, big engines at the back and wings at the sides to give maneuvering jets (themselves hefty engines by the standards of most other ships) a good position relative to the ship's mass. The front and bottom of the ship is just a big, square hollow into which standard sized cargo containers can be stacked. Sometimes at the front is a large rotary engine or motor which operates winches, lifting cargo through the atmosphere while the freighter remains in orbit.
