Leviticus
Leviticus, otherwise known as the Temple of the Law, is the only Temple ship to have offensive weapon systems. It has a single large laser, hooked directly into the core power system. This is calibrated to emit power between 104 and 224TW, adjustable in 8TW intervals. The beam diameter can also be adjusted, being between 100m and 2200m.
When set to any power level above number 25 (184TW), the laser is in 'full power' mode. This requires the ship's auxilliary systems (including the bay doors, and life support to the outer levels) to be shut down and then a 3 cent pause while the canon's intermediate capacitors charge. It can only operate with 500m or 2000m beam diameter, and all the ship's other systems (including the jump drive) must be shut down. The beam cannot be fired on full power for more than 18 cents or less than 90 ticks (otherwise the load balancing capacitors would overload), and it requires 25 cents to re-stabilise the power generators afterwards, during which time the main bay doors, the big laser itself, and the jump drive cannot be operated.
The laser can be aimed by up to 45 minutes of arc; pointing it at a target outside this range requires tugs to move the entire temple.
The only time the laser has been used outside testing is in the Battle of Cyradian, where its cooldown period proved a significant disadvantage, and during the <date>June 842</date> Manillar Incident, which the church currently claims to have been an accidental discharge.
