Started out as an artist in the coastal districts of New Castile, but his life was always made harder by discrimination due to her part-Vermen heritage. Because of this, hearing that Class 5 planets have a more cosmopolitan attitude, she moved to Magellan as soon as she had raised enough money to make the journey.
However, she soon discovered that her drawing style wasn't well received in the big city. She survived only because she managed to meet Carlchopacti Incorvenjubilant, a manager at the Silverlake Royale hotel, who was also involved with a programme sheltering half-Vermen from discrimination. They had 3 sons, but sadly Carl died after they'd been together only 5 years, and Galpar found it impossible to find work to support 3 children on her own; she died in abject poverty, leaving her sons only a single room apartment in Lower Manifold.
