Family Soldier
In the Castillian Mafia, a confirmed member of the organisation. A soldier has been trained (though not necessarily in fighting), has sworn an oath to uphold the honour of their family or clan, and to protect the bosses at the cost of their own life. A Family Soldier will take orders from one Boss, and report to their Boss if they learn anything the family needs to know. They should also take orders from any Safe Men in their family, and protect any other Boss who is attacked by another family or the police.
Promotion Prospects
Traditionally, a Family Soldier can rise to become a Capitan (who is responsible for organising a group with similar or complementary skills), or can aim to become a Boss himself.
When a Boss dies, or a new one is needed, each existing Boss proposes one of his own Soldiers for the position. This is sometimes, but not usually, a Capitan (as promoting a Capitan would mean breaking up an efficient team). The Bosses may then vote for the best candidate, or they can be examined and assessed by the Inner Family. The other candidates will always have the choice of joining the new Boss's group, and in the case of a new Boss, they will usually also be able to choose from lower-ranking members such as rungboys to form their new group.
