Flagonball Association
The Flagonball Association is the governing body of the sport of Flagonball. They define the official rules of Flagonball, as used by all professional teams. However, unlike many other sports, the FA only determines the rules of play; terms about team composition, players' wages, and the systems for arranging matches, are all determined by independent bodies which cover a particular league or planet.
The Association is made up of 3 representatives from each member tournament (whether it is a league, cup or other), who meet at least once every year to discuss any changes which must be made to the rules. One representative from each tournament must be a full-time player who has no non-Flagonball income.
As well as Flagonball itself, the FA has the power to veto official Flagon rules. Traditionally (and to the consternation of players from more conservative worlds), the Flagon drinking game is officially used as a tiebreaker when the FA executive are voting on new rules. However, this has only happened once (in the famous case to decide whether a flag is awarded if the goal collapses over the ball).
