Magellan/Sherm Harbour
One of Magellan's deserted city districts. Sherm Harbour was originally a place where fish could easily be pulled out of the River Sherm, and other boatmen could offer tourists a ride on the picturesque river. However, as the fish market grew overhead (in Goldquarter), the lack of sunlight caused the ecosystem of the river to change dramatically. Now, the sector stinks; and nobody lives here. Some buildings are used for storage, but most are simply abandoned. The Sector Council is appointed by Goldquarter, and is simply responsible for ensuring the structural stability of the buildings in order to support the richer sector above; as well as organising sufficient cleaning and ventilation to prevent the smell of decay spreading.
The sector is a mile long stretch of riverside running from west to east on level A32, bounded to the North by the desolate slums of <address root="Magellan/North Island">[/Capitol], [/Wellborough] and [/Falling Star]; and to the south and east by Street and Den on the opposite bank. Technically, the district also includes the river walls down to A26; beneath which a 3-level Cerament block reinforced with Torsion Glass is massively over-engineered to take the weight of the water.
