IM Corp is the current market leader in faster than light communications. They have a virtual monopoly, as the only company outside the Service which owns an Interspace Relay network.

Although their pricing is prohibitive for all but the most vital communications (current rates are 4T per KB of data on normal links, 150T + 10T/KB on dedicated links), there is enough urgent traffic in the universe to make them a sizeable profit. Their corporate headquarters now encompasses the entire <address root="Caine's Star">[/Collingham Valley] on [/Chiru/]</address>, which has become a walled city discrete from its neighbours, with non-company service industry such as food vendors operating out of prefabricated buildings in <address root="Caine's Star/Chiru/Collingham Valley">[/Communication Tower]'s</address> many courtyards.
