Fermat/The Plateau

The Plateau is an artificial landmass in the centre of the <address>Southern Ocean on [//]. It consists of a series of large flat rock pillars, an early experiment into the Geologic Engineering principles which were more famously used to create [Whence/Southern Continent].</address>

The plateau's main settlements are the fishing towns of <address>[/Gambol], [/Alehouses] and [/Lingstrom]</address>. However, while life near the sea is comfortable, a sizeable part of the plateau is uninhabitable due to a phenomenon known as Seamy side volitation, which has led to massive subsidence on the larger islands.

The unstable deserts, however, do provide something of a safe haven for wanted criminals, who are believed to seek refuge there, congregating in large modular citys on the sunken plains. One notable example is the Free Republican Army for the People, a militant extremist group based in <address>[/Lensmer's Crater].
