Global Electree

One of the political houses in the rather unusual bicameral system of Fylings. The Electree does not have a fixed number of positions, instead allowing the public to directly elect as many or as few officials as they wish. The voting power of a Member is directly proportional to the number of citizens who voted them in. The system elects the lowest possible number of individuals in order to achieve a minimum required voting power for the Electree as a whole; but weighted in such a way that if more members of the public vote in Electree elections, their members will (between them) have more power relative to the other house of government, the United Executive Council.

In reality, however, both bodies are often little more than figureheads for the shadowy, unofficial, unelected group known as the Global Elite.
