Keynode

A worldnet node which maintains an index of other nodes on a specific topic. Depending on the world, keynode status is either assigned by the planetary government or bought from the network.

Each keynode has a number of keywords for which they are responsible. Most search agents will forward any search including a keyword to the keynode's own search engine.

For example, any search on Whence's worldnet which includes the word "golf" will be redirected to the search engine maintained by the Whence Island Tournament Golfing Board.

Also coming into slang use as the 'official' node for a company or product.
