Scrapheap

A term for a spacecraft (especially a cruiser) which still runs reliably a dozen years after its last service, or keeps on going with one engine shot off. Originally a disparaging nickname for the Osterman Ecliptic, the meaning slowly shifted over the years as its endurance became more noticeable.
