Guild

Guilds are organisations for people (or small businesses) in the same trade or industry to maintain professional standards, and represent their members in government when legislation or taxation is proposed that will affect them. In some cases, guilds have significant political influence and membership (or guild accreditation) may be a legal requirement before practising their trade.
