Supertanker

A Supertanker (named for the Sirrius Haulage Supertanker) is a specialised type of freighter optimised for surface delivery. Most are designed for delivery of fuel oils or other fluids that require specialised delivery connectors not usually available in the limited space of line stations. Other versions include the Osterman Ark, designed for transporting large animals.

The Supertanker has a downline rail attachment, letting it descend to the planet surface by riding the line between normal elevator services. It has a mounting point for a boost brick assembley, on the side opposite the line hook, in order to ascend the line while sacrificing minimal space for engines. The original S.H. model had wings suitable for gliding, and also thrusters suitable for limited maneuverability. Other ships based on this pattern have substituted other types of engines for atmospheric production.
