Whence Starapple

An exotic fruit, used sometimes in gourmet cooking and expensive fruit juices. The crop is only grown on Whence, and nobody has ever managed to find seeds or cuttings for export.

In fact, the starapple's nature as a rare and exotic plant is a popular misconception. They are in fact grown from normal apple trees, but the fruit have a highly distinctive texture and are unusually sweet due to the peculiar concentrations of mineral salts in Whence soil (sometimes with other additives fed to the trees, by growers who want to keep their product's distinctiveness).
