The Chrome Worlds are a group of planets which are relatively isolated from the rest of the known worlds. The original 11 were quarantined from 992 to 981 as a result of the Chrome virus, and during this time developed a strong isolationist political outlook.
The Chrome Worlds now maintain a shared legislature, the Judiciary Council, made up of 6 politicians, 3 priests, a scientist and a journalist from each member world. The Council's mandates are usually enacted into the laws of each world within 10 months.

Other characteristics of most member worlds include:
- High reliance on technology
- Most computers or machines are Chromeheads
- High unemployment, with generous state benefits
- Large art/design industries
