A sizeable portion of Starstream's landmass is sub-tropical jungle, which has grown up in the thousands of years since the planet was terraformed, and is now being cut back to make way for plantations growing a number of rare and delicate crops including the priceless Starstream Tobacco which is their best known export.

Unlike most other worlds, it does not have either polar or equatorial downlines; instead, its 12 line stations are equally spaced around the tropics at 19.8 degrees either side of the geographic equator.
