- Short for Fractional Extraction, a mining technique originally developed on worlds affected by Pressure Side Volitation. Its use on more geologically-stable worlds has led to an increase in earthquakes, as well as general structural instability.

- In common slang (especially on Guldan and Magellan) an interjection expressing disgust. This usage was introduced by a news presenter, Tomodore Markins, in his reports on a hotel collapse following the inappropriate use of Fracking to try to extract selenium ore under Guldan's northern glacier.
