Allentria
Like many guilds, the Allentria have their own legal system for resolving civil disputes between members. However, unlike a guild this is mainly a society of aristocrats and people with power, rather than those with a common philosophy or interest. Indeed, any particular specialisation or interest is less important than the fact of power or wealth itself, and the organisation as a wehole seems to have its fingers in as many pies as possible. Among the general populace, the best known aspect of the society are their convoluted and often ludicrous entry requirements (which may change depending on how well you arew liked by existing members - this is one society which never claimed to be fair).
Also unlike most guilds and cults, the Allentria have been known to apply their internal laws to outsiders with whom they are trading. As many members have a great deal of influence in planetary government, it is often possible for them to arrange local laws in order to apply their own rules, procedures and sometimes even the Allentria Duelling Code in any case involving a member. In some extreme cases, this even extends to criminal procedings, although this is currently being strongly opposed by the Federation of Known Worlds.
