Calhoun Chilli

The hottest hot sauce ever invented; A spice blend found originally on New Castile, where it is included in a wide variety of foods as a test of manliness, or as part of hazing rituals for various groups (rumoured to include some families of the Castillian Mafia). Despite the creator's extravagant claims about being made from the juice of specially cultivated chilli plants, this sauce's most active ingredient is synthetic dihydrocapsaicin, which may constitute up to 8% of the sauce by volume.

On Castile, the sauce is heavily regulated for both food and entertainment uses; on other worlds, legislation may be introduced as soon as the sauce becomes a popular import (although on other planets, such as Vermendanyan, Bane and the United Celtic Fringe Calhoun Chilli is regarded as a chemical weapon, and its import entirely prohibited)
