Skills College

An initiative on Sophia to standardise qualifications and licensing across all kinds of practical jobs, a skills college provides the administrative framework for both formal training and practical apprenticeships, in any field where a local skilled tradesman is willing to teach others. The scheme has also been taken up on other worlds including Alfeya and Maveggan, while many others institute a similar system.

Each school is responsible for ensuring that certificates in different disciplines represent an equivalent degree of expertise; while sanctioned bodies known as Guilds are responsible for standardising the curriculum for a specific trade between schools.
