Limits

It is officially stated that there are 333 planets in the universe. This number excludes:

• Class X planets deserted or uninhabitable systems
• Unregistered planets which don't officially exist
• Temple Codes, which are timetable codes used as placeholders for uninhabited points in space

We currently have 75 pages in Category:Planets, including 2 Class-X and 3 Unregistered. Therefore the number of planets not yet documented on this wiki is 263. In addition, there are a few limitations on worlds in certain categories. So if you want to add a world to one of these groups, please update the numbers here so we know when the group is full.

• The universe includes 6 Class 5 planets, of which we have named 3
• There were originally 11 Chrome Worlds, of which we have detailed 5 (though up to 3 more may have joined this group later)
• We know of 6 of the 50 worlds in Enterprise space
• The United Democratic League granted independent rule to 5 planets, with Klondengelber joining later. All 6 United Democratic League Worlds are named already
• All timetable codes alphabetically after ZTR are allocated to Temple Codes, and should not be used for planets.

Temple Codes

These codes are used on timetables to indicate a point in space other than a planet, which a Temple ship might make a jump to. They are allocated sequentially, starting with ZZZ, ZZY, ZZX, ... ZZB, ZZA, ZYZ, ZYY ... and so on. So far, they have reached ZTR, so it should be assumed that all codes after this in the alphabet have been used.

Some of these codes can be visited by anyone who gets advance permission (such as a scientist wanting to take deep space measurements). Some, traditionally shown on timetables in lower case, are restricted to high-ranking church officials only. It is widely believed that these are meetings of the Grand Synods, forcing all normal people off the ships before they travel there in order to keep the priests safe.
